With the second day of the WESG World Finals now behind us, all 16 teams for the second group stage have been determined.
Group D featured what could turn out to be the upset of the entire tournament as two-time Major champions and current No.3 team in the world SK were sent packing following defeats to BIG and Russia. The German team ended up finishing at the top of the table thanks to a close 16-13 win over the Russian mix.
Group F saw Space Soldiers pick up a perfect nine points without too much trouble, with Recca coming in second place following a three-way tie with Isurus and Limitless that was decided by the round difference in the matches involving the trio.
In Group G, the two favourites, Cloud9 and fnatic, pulled through, with the IEM Katowice champions claiming the top spot following a comprehensive victory over the North Americans, this way proving their doubters wrong after beating SCARZ Absolute by narrowest of margins earlier in the day.
Finally, the two-team Group H saw ORDER secure the high seed after beating local side MAX by a 16-8 scoreline.
